One of her major accomplishments was calculating the flight path for the Apollo Moon landing program in 1962. Prior to this she helped calculate other fligt paths for Alan Shepard's mission and did computer calculations for NACA. She also wrote and published 26 papers. She also helped with Apollo 11 and 13, space shuttle program, and Earth Resources Satellite, as well. In 2015 she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for her work
